As always, it is another busy time of year for us here at Dromod Boxty. This year, we have been getting out and about more than ever. On December 1st, we were invited to take part in a local Christmas market at Supervalu in Granard. We had such a wonderful evening meeting our customers, some of whom have been supporting Dromod Boxty since it was first set up in 1990. It was really great to hear customer’s feedback on the individual products, they told us what they liked, what they didn’t and what they wanted more of. When it comes to the boxty, people always seem to have a story about how they were first introduced to it. It usually follows the same pattern “ My mother used to make her own boxty in the kitchen when we were kids ….”.
Thanks so much to all the staff at Supervalu in Granard for having us, we really enjoyed it, we even got to meet Santa himself.
The following Saturday we headed off to Supervalu in Longford town for another food tasting. It was a dreadful morning as storm Desmond was in full swing, but it didn’t deter our customers who were out getting their food shopping for the week ahead. That morning we walked around the shop giving people tasters of Dromod Boxty’s Ginger Cake, one of our newest products, and it went down a storm (No pun intended). By the time we left the shop, all of the cakes were completely sold out. You can find our more about our delicious Ginger Cake here.
Over the past few months we have really enjoyed doing our Facebook competitions, but for Christmas we wanted to do something special. The Dromod Boxty Christmas hamper was hugely popular on Facebook, with over 800 entries for prize. All of the products for this hamper were purchased in Supervalu Carrick-on-Shannon who have been stocking our products for the past 25 years. We will be announcing the winner of the competition on our Facebook page.
Finally, you can now find Dromod Boxty on Instagram. We have always been big fans of this social media platform and wanted to join it to showcase our homemade products. In more recent times Instagram has become one of most popular social media channels, especially for food lovers. If you would like to follow us on Instagram, you can do so here.
